专利说明:

TECHNICAL FIELD [0001] The present invention relates to the field of watchmaking and relates, more particularly, to a method for decorating watch components, specially adapted for producing decorations on colored components.
State of the art [0002] The decor of watch components that forms a timepiece, is one of the aspects that contribute to the "high-end" appearance of a movement. Thus, the decoration of the elements of the frame, bridges, platinum, mobiles, or all or part of the dial, is part of the traditional watchmaking know-how. From a certain level of range, almost no surface is left bare. The decorations of the satin type give the surface of the pieces a matt, regular appearance, by producing microscopic and regular stripes. These sets can evolve with the achievement of guilloche, rib-shaped, sunburst or beadwork, known in the field. The methods used to make these decorations, require an important know-how, and are only difficult industrialized, because of the tools used, such as grinding wheels with abrasives whose pores close quickly.
[0003] PVD treatments have, more recently, offered the possibility of creating pieces with new shades of colors. If one wants to combine the application of a PVD treatment to a decoration operation, one must perform a series of several operations. Thus, the decor is first made, then, if the component is brass, it must be nickel-plated and gilded, before receiving a PVD treatment for its coloring. The holes formed in the component for its assembly or for receiving other parts, must then be taken to the correct dimensions, because of the PVD deposit in these orifices. The cost price of this series of operation limits its scope to high-end parts.
There are many other techniques for obtaining colored parts, for example with paint treatments, but to date, the aesthetic results obtained are unsatisfactory and incomparable with the components made with the method proposed above.
The present invention aims to propose a new method of decorating watch components free from the above disadvantages, whose aesthetic rendering is comparable to the methods used until then.
Disclosure of the invention [0006] More specifically, the invention relates to a decoration method as proposed in the claims, as well as to components obtained by this method.
Embodiment of the Invention [0007] The present invention relates to a method of decorating a watch component. More particularly, this innovative method proposes to produce a colored and decorated watch component, with an aesthetic result comparable to what is obtained for components receiving a traditional decoration followed by a PVD treatment.
In the present application, the concept of decor means movement decoration operations as usually used in high-end watchmaking. These operations involve removal of material, to form microscopic reliefs, giving particular surface aspects. These operations are in particular operations of satin, guilloche operations, beading, sunlight, or realization of the coasts of Geneva for example ... A simple removal of material punctual, without realization of a particular series aiming to form a decoration with other shaped reliefs, should not be considered a decoration.
Surprisingly, the Applicant has found that, by applying to the component to be decorated, at least one layer of a liquid containing pigments so as to tint the latter or at least to modify its reflection properties. and / or refraction of a visible light, then, after drying of the layer of this pigmented liquid, by producing a pattern by removal of material in the layer of this pigmented liquid, an aesthetic effect was obtained allowing, in any case naked eye, to confuse a component obtained according to the invention with a component obtained according to traditional methods.
In the context of the present invention means liquid any substance in the liquid phase, regardless of its viscosity, and its composition. The concept of liquid includes compositions in the form of gels, aqueous compositions, compositions based on lipid or on alcoholic basis or solvents, organic or otherwise.
[0011] Advantageously, the material removal operation is performed by means of a laser. The laser machining center used is programmed to produce patterns such as satin, guilloche, beadwork, sunburst, ribs, in particular. Given the use of digital programming, new patterns or new combinations of patterns are possible, since the geometric lines in which the reliefs are made, can be interrupted at will, which is not possible with the techniques traditional.

Claims (8)
[1]
The laser does not seem a priori a suitable technique to perform such an operation. However, by using a low power laser, typically less than 20 W, and adjusting the laser displacement speed, the material removal operation is limited to the pigmented liquid layer. The depth of the structures produced is advantageously less than the thickness of the layer of pigmented liquid, so as not to leave visible the material forming the base of the component. The components are preferably metallic, made of steel or brass. The deposition operation is advantageously carried out by spraying, which gives good homogeneity to the pigmented liquid layer and also allows a very interesting production efficiency. Several layers of pigmented liquid, including different colors and aspects, for example matt or glossy, can be applied to achieve particular effects. Other pigmented liquid techniques are possible. The invention also relates to a watch component obtained by the above method, comprising at least one surface covered with a pigmented liquid layer, in the thickness of which is made a pattern in relief. It may be any component to be decorated, for example a wheel, a bridge, a plate, a rocker, or a lid or a bottom of a barrel, a needle, this list not being limiting. Thanks to the invention, we can achieve decorated clock components at a particularly attractive cost, without jeopardizing the aesthetics of the decorations. A great variability of colors, but also of forms is possible, without having to resort to complex settings. claims
